About The Area
- The Iowa City / Coralville area is a great place to live. It combines
a community rich with culture and a strong committment to the arts with
a relaxed, midwestern atmosphere.
When deciding where in Iowa City or Coralville to live, several considerations
beyond cost can be taken into account such as area attractions and events,
transportation, and convenient centers of commerce. For more information
about the area including government and community organization pages see
The Iowa City and Coralville Online Resource.
It is not unusual to pay $600+ for a two person rental in downtown
Iowa City. As always, rent tends to be cheaper the further you are from
the downtown area. In many cases it may be wise to buy a home rather than
rent an apartment if planning to stay more than a few years.
Purchasing or renting a place to live is an important decision and
should be made carefully. The following is a (non-complete) list of businesses
with web pages which you might find useful.
